Arthur “Blackie” Roach, 67, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a self-employed roofer for 35 years and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Phillips Roach; parents, Charles Edward and Lillian May Parker Roach; sister, Charlie Mae Tinker; and brothers, Samuel “Sam”, Oscar ”Blondie”, Roy “Spud” and Jackie Roach.
He is survived by his daughter, Angie Roach Wright of Ringgold; two sons, Charles “Charlie” Roach and Shawn Taylor, both of Ringgold; brother, John Roach of Ringgold; four sisters, Barbara Simerley of Ringgold, Edna Quinn of Ringgold, Ruby Rainford of Washington and Linda Prather of Ringgold; 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow at New Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday until funeral time at the funeral home.
