Riverview Neighbors In Court Over "Huge Wall"

Riverview neighbors are in court over a "huge wall" recently constructed on Edgewood Circle.

William G. and Alice Oehmig filed the Chancery Court complaint against Keith and Amanda Jackson.

The suit, filed by attorney Bill Horton, says the Jacksons bought the former Allen Corey property, then added a large amount of fill in their back and side yards, adjacent to the Oehmigs.

It says the Jacksons then built a stone wall that is as high as 15 feet in places, as well as constructing a concrete wall.

The suit says there had been an ancient fence between the two properties, and it was marked by pins that had stood for decades.

It says the walls encroach upon the Oehmig property and that the workers were on Oehmig property during its construction.

The complaint says a rebar marker was positioned about four feet onto the Oehmig property, but it is charged that this was placed fraudulently. It says this marker is the same type used currently and not old like the other pins.

The suit says the Jacksons did not discuss the matter with the Oehmigs until far into the construction process.

The complaint, asking for both compensatory and punitive damages, says the project killed two large trees on the Oehmig side and a third is dying. It says the soil has been compacted and the drainage affected.

The suit says the Oehmigs will have to do extensive landscaping to shield themselves from the huge wall.
