Memorial Auditorium Flag Disgrace

  • Sunday, May 24, 2015

How can it be that Memorial Auditorium, which was built to honor soldiers and sailors, displays our country’s flag in such a disgraceful manner?  Out of six poles on the front of the building only two battered flags remain.  Additionally, two old banners are attached to the wall that have long ago faded and look like they’ve seen better days.

This is not acceptable for the city to allow this to happen.  With all the millions being spent on study after study of things that will most likely never happen, the city is constantly looking for grant funding from the USA, but can’t even spend 200 bucks on the symbol of the country from which it begs for money constantly and for which many men and women died to defend.

This needs to be addressed now and should never happen again.  We can do better than this.
