Chattanooga Women's Leadership Institute To Host Leadership Luncheon

  • Thursday, May 28, 2015

Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute (CWLI) will host a Leadership Luncheon highlighting the importance of acknowledging mentors in the workplace on Friday June 5, at The Chattanoogan from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

One of the themes for 2015: recognizing and acknowledging the importance of mentors – even though our mentors may not look like us. Although the focus of CWLI has historically been somewhat exclusive of men, we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge that in today's workplace we are quite often sponsored and mentored by men.

"Men Who Promote Women" will be the focus of the panel discussion on June 5, not only in the sense of earning a position with a higher rank, but in the sense of offering encouragement and being a champion for women as leaders.

CWLI wants to include every type of mentor as guests at this event: co-workers, employers, supervisors, spouses, best friends, parents, men and women alike are welcome. Invite that person who has been a strategic sounding board and encourager to you along your pathway of professional development.

The panel will consist of the following people:

  • Chris Anderson, Chattanooga City Councilman;
  • Ron Harris, Director of Corporate Workforce Diversity, BlueCross BlueShield of TN;
  • Mitch Patel, Founder, President, and CEO of Vision Hospitality Group, Inc;
  • Keith Sanford,  Market President for First Tennessee Bank

The cost for the luncheon is $23 for CWLI members and $33 for non-members. Payment must be received by Monday, June 1. Visit www.cwli.org to register.
