Hackney, Fannie Sue (Dalton)

Fannie Sue Hackney, 93, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Annie Barnard Hackney and J.A. Hackney; and was also preceded in death by her sister, Willena Hudgens.

Sue was a member of McGaughey Chapel Church. Sue was greatly loved by her family and many friends and neighbors. She was a wonderful person, always willing to help anyone in need, a hard worker, and she loved her family and flowers.

She is survived by her sisters, Frances Hackney, Nora Newton and Eunice Robinson all of Dalton; nieces and nephews, Linda Pilcher, Donald Newton, Ronald Newton, Patricia Russell, Steve Hudgens, Samuel Robinson, Kenneth Robinson and Debby Forbus; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30 at 2 p.m. with Dr. Ron McKinney and Rev. Paul Armstrong officiating.Burial will follow at Varnell Cemetery.

The Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, May 30 from 12-2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Varnell Community Cemetery Fund, C/O Bill Caylor, 1118 Tunnel Hill, Varnell Rd. Dalton, GA 30720.

Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave. Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
