The Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute (CWLI) is now accepting applications for its eighth annual Women Mentoring Women program, which will begin on Aug. 21.
The Women Mentoring Women program consists of eight two-hour lunchtime sessions designed to aid women in developing or sharpening their mentoring skills. The goal is to encourage women to utilize their talents and experience to help each other and to aid in the growth of women in positions of civic and business leadership within the community. Each session will be led by recognized local women who will present on topics such as understanding communication styles, team building, political savviness, the use of power, authority and influence in the workplace, closing the generation gap, and personal branding. The sessions will be held at Chambliss, Bahner, and Stophel from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
“The framework for mentorship was well defined and purposeful, but the class was so much more than 'just' mentorship,” said Jennifer Harper, founder of Common Cents Financial Literacy, Inc., “It provided useful insights about professional culture, personal branding, inter-generational considerations and provided a time for the participants to learn from and support each other. I would highly recommend the program to any woman looking for a personal and professional development program!”
This initiative began in August 2008, and has graduated 107 women from a variety of business backgrounds in the greater Chattanooga area. Those interested in applying for this year’s program may visit www.cwli.org for more information and to download an application. The deadline for applications is Monday, June 15.
