The Photographic Society of Chattanooga will present Nye Simmons on Thursday, June 18, at 7 p.m. Mr. Simmons is a writer and photographer based in Knoxville and has been published in regional and national publications, including the Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography. His emphasis is classic landscape photography for fine art and book reproduction. Mr. Simmons most recent work is a large format coffee table book titled Blue Ridge Parkway Celebration.
Visitors are welcome to attend the presentation.
For beginners or photographers that want to get their camera off of “automatic,” join the Boot Camp at 6 p.m. The discussion will include My Images are not Sharp: hand holding techniques, tripod, more light, image exposure tools and post production.
The presentation will be at the St. John United Methodist Church, 3921 Murray Hills Dr.
The Photographic Society of Chattanooga will also hold a reception at the Gallery at Blackwell on June 26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to present the summer season show. The summer season theme is Chattanooga Architecture.
Refreshments will be provided, and the public is welcome. The Gallery is at Blackwell Automotive at 71 Eastgate Loop.
