Kathryn Buff
Kathryn Buff, 88, of Ringgold, died at her home on May 3, 2105.
She was born in Oneida, Tn., to the late Edward and Ethel Zumstein. She was a graduate of Ward-Belmont Preparatory School and Junior College, Katherine Gibbs School, New York, and also studied at the University of Georgia. She was an emeritus member of the Eastern-Star and past matron of Ringgold chapter #245, and served as a grey-lady volunteer at Hutcheson Medical Center and continued the business of Zumstein's Department Store after the death if her parents. Katheryn was a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church and Pioneer Sunday School Class.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, J.B. (John) Buff, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Porter (Dee Dee) Buff, daughter, Portia (Gary) Knowles both of Ringgold, grandchildren, Chris Harris, Lexi (Tom) Cummings, Danae Harris all of Ringgold, Bart (Shannon) Buff of Covington, Ga., five great-grandchildren, and two step grandchildren.
Special thanks is given to Avalon Hospice and to Leona, Erika, Tiny, and Kevin. We also would like to thank Synovia.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, in the chapel with Reverend Dan Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Baxter Addition of Anderson Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, and from 12 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ringgold First Baptist Church, 7611 Nashville St., Ringgold, GA, or Ringgold Methodist Church, 7484 Nashville St., Ringgold, GA, and or to your favorite charity.
