Rev. Robert Carson Williams, 85, of Lebanon, Tennessee, and formerly of Chattanooga, died on May 2, 2015 at his home.
Born April 11, 2015, in Kingston in Roane County, Tn., he was the son of the late James Otha Williams and Hazel Lee Fisher Williams. He was a 1948 graduate of Lebanon High School and a graduate of The University of The South School of Theology. He was ordained as a deacon in the Episcopal Church in 1957 and ordained as a Priest in 1958. His parishes included Brownsville, Ripley, Old Hickory, Chattanooga, and his last assignment was Hamilton County Episcopal Chapel and St. Barnabas Center for the Elderly. He retired in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Hughes; and brother, David Curtis Williams.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Kenneth W. Hughes; niece, Harriett Ann (David) Thorne; nephew, Randall Walker Hughes; andseveral cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 8, at 1 p.m. at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Dr. Bill Dalglish officiating.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 8, from 11 a.m.–12:45 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon.
