Singer/songwriter Caroline Jones performed for McCallie students Friday in a special performance at chapel.
Ms. Jones is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, radio show host and author. Her visit to McCallie was part of her the Heart is Smart Initiative, a curriculum and school tour designed to uplift, inspire and provide students a medium of expression through music.
Ms. Jones performed several original songs as well as folk tunes and covers of popular songs at McCallie, and she concluded her show with a song accompanied by students in the McCallie string ensemble.
Ms. Jones has performed with famous artists such as James Taylor, Deepak Chopra, The Beach Boys, Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Ani DiFranco, Ziggy Marley and The Wailers, Grace Potter, O.A.R. and Patti Smith.
She also hosts a monthly radio show “Art & Soul" on Sirius XM’s Coffeehouse channel where she delves “into the art of songwriting to the soul of the song” with guest singer/songwriters including Butch Walker, James Bay and Steve Cropper.
