Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) president Pete McDonald presided over commencement exercises for approximately 200 students at the Forum in Rome on Thursday, May 7. Family and friends gathered to honor students as they were presented with degrees, diplomas, and certificates during the 2015 Spring Commencement Ceremony.
Invocation was led by Mark Upton, director and instructor of the Marketing Management Program at GNTC. The commencement proceedings began with Dr.
McDonald welcoming guests and praising students for their achievement.
“It’s an honor for all of us associated with the college to contribute our part to the success these students will have as they go into their careers,” said Dr. McDonald.
Robert L. Berry, Senior Partner, Brinson Askew Berry Attorneys at Law, was the keynote speaker for the evening.
“Having personal integrity in your work and the way you conduct yourself every day is vitally important,” said Mr. Berry. “You need to go the extra mile, not because somebody asked you to, and if you do that willingly it will come back to you tenfold.”
Stuart Phillips, vice president of Student Affairs at GNTC, recognized High Honor and Honor graduates and Melinda McCannon vice president of Academic Affairs at GNTC presented graduates with degrees, diplomas, and certificates.
