TVOC Tennis Day One: Maxx Lipman Leads First Day Winners

Led by No.2 seed and U. of Florida sophomore Maxx Lipman, 15 of the 16 seeded players advanced - Top seeded Nathan Pasha received a bye - to the round of 32 Wednesday in the TVOC men’s open division.

Thursday’s Play: Men’s Open singles round of 32 will be played in the morning followed by round of 16 matches in the afternoon (noon and 1:30 pm.). Matches in the women’s open singles and doubles plus a few mixed open doubles matches plus some matches in the men’s 45s, 55s and 65s singles.

“Right now I am working with a company in California which takes the orders and ships the products, but my ultimate goal is to work with manufacturers closer to this area and have the clothing items in stores here in Chattanooga, said Henry who plays recent Notre Dame High School graduate Charles Jabaley Thursday at 9 a.m. in a round of 32 match.

Sue and Sue Doing Well at Worlds: Playing for Great Britain in the world seniors, Sue Bartlett (women’s 55) and Sue Webb (women’s 50s) both won singles matches Wednesday to help their respective teams to victory.

The GB 55s won its pool (3-0 and has advanced to the semifinals, while the GB 50s have two more pool play matches.
