The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Regents’ Council of Chattanooga and the Tennessee Society of the Sons of the American Revolution John Sevier Chapter held its annual Flag Raising Ceremony at the Brainerd Mission Cemetery on Wednesday, with Pam McConnell presiding.  M

aria Matthews, outgoing president of the Brainerd Mission Cemetery was the speaker.  Susan Thomas, state regent TSDAR, and John C. Echerd, past president, Tennessee Society SAR, also spoke.  

Musical selections were presented by Jimmy Yellowhorse Webster and Tamara Hicks. Charles N. Dammann, past president TSSAR and the East Ridge High School JROTC Color Guard assisted in the raising of the flags.

The benediction was given by James H. Carter, Jr., chaplain, John Sevier Chapter, TNSSAR.  

Mrs. Phyllis Carter is the incoming president of the Brainerd Mission Cemetery.
