Fishing Report From The TWRA

Here is the fishing report from the TWRA:

Center Hill:  Fishing is good. Water temperature is 80 degrees; lake is stable. 

Bass:
  A few bass are being caught at night on spinnerbaits and soft plastics in 5-to-15 feet of water.
Walleye:  Several walleye are being caught while trolling crankbaits and nightcrawler rigs in 8-to-15 feet deep of water.

Chickamauga Reservoir:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 682.0 feet.  Winter normal elevation: 676.0 feet.  Current elevation: 682.2 feet. The water surface temperature is 75 degrees.

Largemouth Bass: A lot of lower reservoir fish are beginning to be caught on the deep summer holes. Upper reservoir fish are mostly along the banks in the deep creeks and river. Crankbaits, plastic worms, and topwater lures early and late are being used for bait.
Smallmouth Bass: No reports this week.
Crappie: A lot of crappie are being caught by many anglers. Most are being caught on the lower reservoir while using minnows or jigs. Search for brush or docks in 10 feet of water or deeper.
Striped bass: Some big fish are being caught. The number of fish being caught is not great.
Bluegill: Bluegill are scattered in deep and shallow water. Crickets or worms are being used. Most shellcrackers are in deeper water. Some shellcrackers can be caught in the cuts or ditches in the upper reservoir.
Sauger/Walleye: Slow. Unfavorable current may be the culprit.
Catfish: Several catfish are being caught while using meaty baits as long as the current is moving.

Dale Hollow:
  Fishing is fair.  Water temperature is 89 degrees; lake is stable. 

Bass:
  A few bass are being caught at night on spinnerbaits and soft plastics on points in 10 feet of water.
Walleye:  A few walleye are being caught while trolling night crawler rigs on clay banks near the dam in 15-to-20 feet of water. 
Bluegill:  A few bluegill are being caught in gravel pockets on crickets in 10 feet of water. 

Watts Bar: Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 740.5 feet.  Winter normal elevation: 736.0 feet.  Current elevation: 740.6 feet. The water surface temperature is 74 degrees in most areas.

Largemouth Bass:
A lot of bass are being caught by many anglers. Jigs or plastic worms are being used by many anglers. Topwater baits are being used by many near docks, rock walls, and other structure.
Smallmouth Bass: Smallmouth bass are being caught by those fishing for largemouth. More smallmouth bass according to reports are being caught at night.
Walleye:
Trollers using crankbaits are catching a few fish. Current has been unfavorable.
Crappie: Deeper secondary brushpiles in 12 feet of water or deeper is the better place to locate crappie. Jigs or minnows are being used. Several fish are being caught by just a few that are targeting crappie.
Catfish: Drifters are catching a lot of fish on meaty baits. Main river eddies are being targeted.
Striped bass: Most stripers are in the upper rivers, but not in the immediate tailwater. shad is the better bait. Some large fish are being caught.
