Senneca Harris, 38, was arrested on assault and kidnapping charges in Cleveland on Tuesday evening.

At 6:27 p.m. Cleveland Police Department officers attempted to serve a domestic assault warrant from an incident that occurred earlier in the day. Harris, who was at 242 East Street NE in Cleveland, refused to make contact with police officers.

The other owner of the residence, who was the victim in the domestic assault, gave consent for officers to enter the residence. It was then that officers learned that Harris had barricaded himself in the front bedroom with one of the children. Several attempts were made to negotiate with Harris; however, negotiations were unsuccessful.

When officers heard the child begin to cry, entry was made into the bedroom. Harris relinquished the child to officers and he was placed in custody without further incident.

Harris has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.

No use of force was reported.
