Fishing Report From The TWRA

Here is the fishing report from the TWRA:

Center Hill: Fishing is good. Water temperature is 84; lake is stable. 
Walleye: Lots of walleye are being caught while trolling nightcrawler rigs in flat banks in 8-to-10 feet of water.
Bass:  Several bass are being caught at night on spinnerbaits and jigs on channel points in 15 feet of water using rigs.

Chickamauga Reservoir:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 682.0 feet.  Winter normal elevation: 676.0 feet.  Current elevation: 682.4 feet.

The water surface temperature is 82 degrees.
Largemouth Bass: Deep ledges and river grass continue to be the better areas. Some big bass (several over 8 lbs.) continue to be caught. Various baits are being used. Spoons, swimbaits, and plastic worms are the most popular baits.
Smallmouth Bass: A few smallmouth are being caught while using jigs in the tailwaters.
Crappie: Not many anglers are targeting crappie. A few are being caught while fishing underneath lights. Minnows and jigs are being used.
Striped bass: The Upper Hiwassee River, the tailwaters, and a few other areas where cool water is prevalent are areas where anglers using shad, swimbaits, jigs and a few other lures are catching stripers.
Bluegill: Many bluegill are bedding and can be caught shallow. An equal number are deep and can be caught on river humps or shoals. Small jigs, worms and crickets can be used for bait.
Catfish: Favorable current and meaty baits is a combination that is working for anglers. Locate catfish in the main river channel.

Dale Hollow:  Fishing is good.  Water temperature is 82 degrees; lake is falling.
Bass: Several bass are being caught at night on spinnerbaits and jigs on points in 10-to-15 feet of water.
Walleye:  A few walleye are being caught early in the morning while trolling deep running crankbaits on flat banks on the lower end of the lake.
Bluegill:  A few bluegill are being caught on crickets on bluffs in 15 feet.

Watts Bar:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 740.5 feet.  Winter normal elevation: 736.0 feet.  Current elevation: 740.9 feet. The water surface temperature is 82 degrees.
Largemouth Bass: Summer patterns which include humps, ledges and rocky points are areas where bass can be caught. Crankbaits, jigs, and plastic worms are being used.
Smallmouth Bass: Rocky points and stumps located on the main channel or areas near the same can be fished with creature baits and spinnerbaits slow rolled for a few smallmouth. Some good fish are being caught at night.
Walleye / Sauger: No reports.
Crappie: Light used at night will bring in a few crappie that can be caught while using minnows. Various locations are being fishing with deeper water being a common ingredient.
Catfish: Drifters in the main channel are using the normal baits to catch plenty of fish.
Striped bass: Mid lake drops are holding several stripers. A few are being caught below Ft. Loudon Dam while using shad. The Melton Hill tailwater is slow. There isn’t any baitfish.
