Chattanooga Area for Bernie Sanders - CABS invites the public to the Chattanooga VFW Post 4848 on July 2, to celebrate veterans and the freedoms that they have sacrificed so much to secure for us. The event will be at Chattanooga VFW Post 4848, at 1491 Riverside Drive, next to the Boathouse Restaurant from 5:30-7 p.m.
Officials said, "We believe it is time to go beyond just words of gratitude for our veterans' service.
We believe it is time to stand up and address the needs of the families who have made this ultimate sacrifice--that we have the moral obligation to protect those who have given everything to protect us."
As chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs, Senator Bernie Sanders proposed a bill last year that would improve VA health care, dental care, expand educational opportunities, help the VA address a disability claims backlog, and help veterans find jobs. It was endorsed by every major veterans' association. Read the bill here.
Organizers said, "This 4th of July, Chattanooga Area for Bernie Sanders is committed to addressing the very real problems facing our military families today by helping elect a presidential candidate who has fought tirelessly for their health, education, and post-military employment needs. We'll focus on Bernie's plans for uplifting America's Veterans by restoring their benefits, then we'll have beer and snacks in the VFW cantina."
