Chris Adams
After an application process that began on April 1, Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke announced the appointment of interim fire chief Chris Adams as chief of the Chattanooga Fire Department.
“Chief Adams has faithfully served our citizens for decades and he is a natural choice to lead the Chattanooga Fire Department,” said Mayor Berke.
“I am pleased to make this appointment and I have full faith that Chief Adams will be exceptional in this position.”
Chief Adams has served in the Chattanooga Fire Department since 1990 and has served as interim chief following the retirement of Fire Chief Lamar Flint. The Chattanooga City Council is expected to vote on the appointment on Tuesday.
“I have spent the last 27 years working in the fire service, preparing for this position of leadership,” said Chief Adams. "I am honored by Mayor Andy Berke’s appointment and I will do my absolute best to lead a great team to make this fire department the best it can be. “
