Jane Kennedy, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, died on June 24, 2015.

She was born in Trenton, N.J., on Aug. 29, 1925, to Hugh and Jane Kennedy.

Jane's parents and brothers, Hugh, Br. Philip and Robert preceded her in death.

She is survived by her brothers, Donald, of Quakertown, Pa., and Richard of Reno, Ne.

She trained and was graduated from St. Francis Hospital as a nurse and then received her bachelor and master degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. She spent 50 years nursing and teaching.

Jane opposed and, in various ways, demonstrated against the war in Viet Nam. For this, in 1972, she was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, one of the few years the honor was not awarded.

A memorial service will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, in the Augustine Chapel at Alexian Brothers on Signal Mountain.
