A singer/songwriter showcase will be held at Charles and Myrtle's Coffeehouse on Saturday, July 11, at 8 p.m. It will be an evening of music presented by Butch Ross and Trish Ferrell Wileman.
Butch and Trish will highlight both their current class along with alumni of their workshop, the Art of the Singer/Songwriter. Now in its third session, the Art of the Singer/Songwriter is a six-week course that "encourages aspiring performers in the areas of writing, vocal technique, performance skills and confidence."
Artists joining Butch and Trish for the concert include Mike Crowder, Ken Hicks, David Kluttz, John Harr, Derick Anderson, Bruce Franks, Naomi Sparkle and newcomers Cody Brooks, Howard Tillison and Rachel Kennedy.
There will be a pass-the-plate donation at the intermission of the concert. Andrew Kelsey hosts.
The Art of the Singer/Songwriter Alums are a diverse group of people - from chiropractors to high school students to accountants to company vice presidents. They continue to write, study, and come together to share songs on a regular basis.
