Steve Dewin Leonard, 54, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Sunday, June 28, 2015 in Chattanooga, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Steve was born May 13, 1961 in Dalton, Georgia. Steve worked many years at Shaw Plant #23 in the tufting department. Steve was very active with his children and coached their little league teams for many years with the Whitfield County Recreation Department.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Beeson Leonard; and his father, Charles Williams.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Leslie Leonard of Euharlee, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Marsha and Wilmar Perez and Lyndsey Leonard all of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Carson Leonard, Leland and Sophia Perez; mother, Nellie Williams of Cleveland, TN; brother, Rocky Williams; sister, Joyce Prince both of Thompson, GA; special friends, Billy and Paula Garrison, Kevin and Stephanie Garrison all of Dalton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Steve Dewin Leonard will be held Thursday, July 2, at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend John Bagley officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at United Memorial Gardens with Kevin Garrison, Justin Garrison, Jacob Rankin, Zane Langham, Neil Crider and Lucas Haynes serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from noon Thursday, July 2 until the service hour.

Ponders Melrose Chapel, Dalton, has charge of the arrangements.
