Symbols Of Slavery - And Response

  • Friday, July 10, 2015

George Washington built quite a fortune on the backs of slaves. He owned 183 and his wife Martha had over a hundred. George inherited 10 slaves when he was 11 years old!  How about Thomas Jefferson? He owned about 600 slaves. Yet we adore these founding fathers. The Washington Monument can be seen from 10 miles away! The Jefferson Memorial has a beautiful pond and cherry trees planted all around it. Jefferson used his slaves for more than just labor, he had children by them.  So why do we print a million dollar bills a day with George Washington looking smug on the front! He's on the quarter too.  Jefferson has been on the nickel for many years.  Those darn Yankees! They are destroying the confederate battle flag, because it stands for slavery, but picnicking in the shade of huge monuments dedicated to men who owned, used and abused black humans for their own personal gain and sometimes pleasure.

Of course we can't touch the Yankee monuments, or dig up the presidents of the north. They won the war.  We lost, so keep kicking us around,  hopefully the politically correct won't find out about your heroic slave owners.

Don't leave out the fact they were all Democrats fighting to keep their slaves.  Fast forward a few dozen decades and we got LBJ who closed the deal for them.
