Due to Thursday’s tragic incident in Chattanooga, all Blood Assurance donor centers will be open until 6:30 p.m. or until the last donor is seen. The downtown Chattanooga center is no longer on lockdown and is accepting donations.
Rick Youngblood, president ad CEO of Blood Assurance said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families affected by today’s tragic incident in Chattanooga.
We are deeply grateful to the community for their overwhelming support. However, when tragedy strikes and there is an urgent need for blood, the universal blood supply suffers. It can take several weeks to replenish the blood supply that is daily needed from the local hospitals serviced by Blood Assurance. In an effort to accommodate the schedules of our local community members, all Blood Assurance donor centers will open an hour earlier
tomorrow morning at
8 a.m. and stay open an hour later
tomorrow evening until
6:30 p.m. Just one blood donation can save up to three lives. While appointments are not required, they are encouraged at
www.BloodAssurance.org. Once again, our hearts go out to the families of everyone involved in today’s heartbreaking incident.”
