Corker, Haslam Visit Erlanger

  • Friday, July 17, 2015
Senator Bob Corker and Governor Haslam on Friday morning paid a private visit to Erlanger Hospital "to personally express their sympathy and appreciation to Thursday’s shooting victims and family members for their service to this community and country."

Both government officials "offered their support in the days and months ahead to the families."

They also met with Erlanger’s trauma surgeons and members of the trauma team to thank them for their rapid response and care following Thursday’s tragic event.

During the visit, Erlanger President and CEO Kevin M. Spiegel noted that drills conducted in conjunction with the Chattanooga Police Department, Sheriff’s Department and local EMS agencies “were responsible for this team effort to go like clockwork.”

Mr. Spiegel said, “I am so thankful we live in a community with such caring, competent leaders and professionals, and that, we at Erlanger, have the expertise, experience and capability to treat trauma patients, particularly in situations like this.”

Heritage Funeral Home - East Brainerd Road Chapel will have a Room of Remembrance for anyone in the community who would like to come by and sign a book for the families of the 4 Fallen Marines.   The funeral home will send the book to the families of the fallen marines.

Members of the public may come by Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to sign a book, share a word of condolence to the  families,  light a memorial candle and receive a flag.
