Sanford E. Willoughby, 80, died on July 2, 2015 in a local health care facility. 

He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church.


He was preceeded in death by his wife, Cecelia Willoughby; parents, Leona and Sanford L. Willoughby; Mattie and Emanual Hardy; and nephew, DeCordia Hardy.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly and Dale Willoughby (Tn), Jeff Willoughby (IL), Robyn (Greg) Tolliver (GA), Alicia (Steven) Saunders (AZ); grandchildren, Michael (SC), Stephen and Jayden (AZ), Sonya, Alexandra and Nicole (GA); sisters, JoAnn (Eddie) Safford and Clara (Sam) Parrish; and brother, Vantress (Mary) Willoughby.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Carlos Williams officiating. Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery- Gate Time- 12:30 p.m.
 
The body will lie in state after noon on Tuesday.
