Funeral Service Will Be Tuesday For Hixson Woman Who Died In Fall From Sunset Rock

Funeral services will be Tuesday for a 30-year-old Hixson woman who died in a fall from Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain on Tuesday.

 

Sara Jane Hunt was a native of Great Lakes, Ill., and was a graduate of Hixson High School and UTC with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.

 

She had previously worked at JC Penney Shoe Department, Jefferson’s Restaurant, Hertz Car Rental at the Chattanooga Airport, Marriott Hotel Downtown, CSL Plasma and Hixson’s Staples.

 

She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and belonged to the Church Bell Choir and the Young Adult Bible Study Group.

 

Park officials said Ms.

Hunt was apparently by herself when she fell some 90 feet.

 

Authorities said a suicide note was found at her home.

 

Surviving are her parents, Carl and Esther Hunt; sisters, Ann (Brandon) White; Nyssa Hunt and Elora Hunt; and nephew, Finn White.

 

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

 

The service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Barry Hildebrandt officiating.

 

Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Garden, Hixson.
