The Band of Heathens
The Band of Heathens

The Nightfall Concert Series continues Friday with the soulful sounds of headliner the Band of Heathens, preceded by local opener High Meadows Communion.

Presented and produced by Chattanooga Presents, this 19-week free outdoor concert series is held every Friday at Miller Plaza and features headline performances by a broad spectrum of music performed by superior national and international artists.

Review for the Band of Heathens:

Since emerging as a favorite new Americana jam band out of Austin, Tx. in the late 2000s, the Band of Heathens has toured relentlessly, landing on some of the finest stages in music. In the course of evolving from loose assemblage to world-class rock ’n’ roll, the Band of Heathens has built a potent body of recorded work that’s won the Austin ensemble a fiercely loyal fan base and a reputation as one of its hometown’s most vital musical resources.

Band member Gordy Quist and Ed Jurdi are the soul of the band with separate styles that meld to create the Heathens' wonderful blend of musical stew. Both singers, songwriters, and great guitarists and players, the nexus of these musical masters makes The Heathens a force of nature that will not be contained. Their last three releases have carried the band to playing 250+ shows a year, as well as a coveted taping for the 35th Anniversary season of the Austin City Limits television program. Their last album hit No. 1 on the Americana Music Association Radio chart and wound up at No. 8 on the AMA’s “Top 100 Albums of 2008” list.

Review for High Meadows Communion:

High Meadows Communion is a Chattanooga based band that formed when a short-notice gig opportunity was presented to these five lifelong friends and musicians. Formerly Our American Revolution, High Meadows Communion played their first show at the (old) Camp House in the fall of 2013, and began recording shortly after.  Integrating the sounds of The Avett Brothers, Kopecky, Houndmouth, The Head and the Heart, and countless other influences, High Meadows Communion wields a truly unique and awe-inspiring catalog of music. Whether it be a foot-stomping refrain or a melodic ballad, their music is consistently a pleasure to listen to.

Food trucks and non-alcoholic drink concessions are available on site. No outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought in to Nightfall.
