Dunn, Greenholtz, Phillips Are Finalists In 2nd Round Of Search For Stern Replacement

The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments met in Chattanooga to hold a public hearing and conduct interviews of a second slate of applicants for the Criminal Court vacancy in the 11th Judicial District, which serves Hamilton County.After interviewing the candidates and conducting a vote, the Council has submitted the following three as nominees to Governor Bill Haslam for the vacancy:

Amanda B. Dunn
Chattanooga

Thomas Clifton Greenholtz
Ooltewah

Stevie Nicole Phillips
Chattanooga

Governor Haslam rejected three prior finalists.

The vacancy was created by the retirement of Judge Rebecca Stern June 1. The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments previously met on April 9 and considered seven applicants, three of whom were submitted to Governor Haslam for his consideration. Pursuant to an executive order signed last fall, the governor requested the Council submit a second panel of three nominees for his consideration. The governor may elect to choose from either of the two panels.
