“We the People.” The single most important phrase in the United States Constitution. Yet it appears to be more and more ignored. Not long ago” We the People” voted in all 50 states in favor of a Constitutional amendment to protect the sanctity of and define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. However we have a President who did not agree, a Justice department which would not enforce the will of the People and in areas state and local officials who openly defied the will of ” We the People.”
Then we had a Supreme Court who in a split decision ruled the marriage protection act unconstitutional based on the equal clause in the 14th amendment, against the will of ”We the People.” That seems it could open the door to who knows what will be next? It could be pedophiles are people or bestiality is best or maybe rights for rapist. I know that sounds extreme but so did same sex unions 20 years ago.
I also am aware that some are saying this must be one of those Bible believing Christians. All I can say to that is thank you for noticing. But even if you are an atheist evolutionist you must agree these types of unions serve no purpose for the human race. They have no reproductive value at all to help insure the growth of the population.
Chief Justice Roberts after the vote noted, this was a victory for those who supported this but not a day of victory for the Constitution, stating it had nothing to do with it. It has already started to fly in the face of the 1st amendment Freedom of Religion. I have heard of Christian owned businesses being fined an extreme amount for refusing to provide service to these same sex unions due to their religious beliefs, and it just began.
There have also been open attempts to infringe on our 2nd amendment right to bear arms. If any such bill ever were to pass, they should save time an institute a new national holiday. The national criminal day would be a day of celebration for criminals knowing their prey would have no means of defending themselves, their homes or their families.
I firmly believe this country came to be the greatest nation on earth and a super power thanks to the principles it was settled on. If you are unsure of those, read the first governing document of this country as written by the first English settlers, the Mayflower Compact. This was drafted and signed on the Mayflower and it leaves nothing to debate.
During the short history of this nation there have been periods of national revival known as the “Great Awakenings.” These were times when the nation as a whole returned to the Christian principles and values that had made it great. Even after 9-11 churches were beyond standing room only, some had to open doors and windows so those outside could hear the service, but not long after it returned to the same old routine. It’s like America will take God or as needed. There was never a time we needed to wake up more than now.
We took prayer and the Ten Commandments out of schools and replaced them with weapons, drugs and pregnant teens. We put some of our military on display in glass front offices and refuse to let them arm themselves, even though terrorist groups have been openly calling for attacks on those who serve to protect us, our military and police. What’s wrong with that picture? We have Americans being beheaded and murdered in other gruesome ways, other countries openly expanding their military and it seems our response is to light the White House in rainbow colors, reduce our military and give into a terrorist funding Iran. Political correctness must give way to common sense. Then we have our President and a group of Democratic Congressmen boycotted a speech given by the prime minister of Israel, our longtime ally in the Middle East. He voiced his concerns, though the talks of such a deal with Iran had obviously increased the urgency of them. Iran has made no secret of who they would like to destroy, first Israel then the United States.
The next Presidential election is already going full speed. You have some that have no political background, but I believe voters have grown tired and distrustful of career politicians. Like most I have encountered I feel there should not be career politicians. Every branch of government should have term limits including the Supreme Court. Officials were to serve their country not have their country serve them with a lifetime career with a big salary, expense account and pension. A career politician cannot begin to relate to the struggles average citizens face. Washington is out of touch with the rest of America. That is why Donald Trump and others like Dr. Carson are not seen as a real threat because they are not a part of the career politician club. I believe we need and are ready for a change. The last polls show Mr. Trump is in the lead in the GOP. He and Dr. Carson are saying things Americans have been waiting to hear from a Presidential candidate, so you career people better pay attention. People are tired of empty talk they want action and action in the right direction.
In other poll results I heard 70 percent of Americans profess to be Christians, yet at the last Presidential election exit polls showed only 30 percent of those who voted were Christians. Even Christians still have a voice and a vote. I suggest you use both wisely, while you can. I ask God to bless you and to forgive and bless our land.
