TCI Graduation Event Held For Bradley County Corrections Personnel

  • Tuesday, July 28, 2015

Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson and staff members attended a ceremony Tuesday, recognizing 18 corrections personnel from the Bradley County Sheriff's Office as they complete training from the Tennessee Corrections Institute.

Sheriff Watson said the mandatory training is rigorous, “Our corrections officers have spent many hours in the classroom and in the facility.  I know they have the ability and the knowledge it takes to be successful in a challenging environment.”

TCI is mandated by state law to inspect all jails and holding facilities in Tennessee, while training the officers that manage and maintain them, as well as certification of the facilities. The Bradley County Jail was re-certified in June.  Corrections officers must successfully complete training as part of that certification.

Attending Tuesday’s event along with Sheriff Watson were POST Training Director Douglas Towne, TCI Training Director Judy Gilley as well as Captain Keith Edwards.
