David Shields Wardlaw, 62, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015.
David was a member of the First United Methodist Church of LaFayette. He was born on August 6, 1952 to the late James and Martha Parke Shields Wardlaw. He was a 1970 graduate of LaFayette High School. David graduated from Chattanooga State with an associate degree. David was Vice President and General Manager of the LaFayette Coca Cola Bottling Company. He served on the Board of Directors for Hutcheson Medical Center. David became a member of the Chattanooga Realtors association and employed with Teems & Teems reality.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Patrick Wardlaw.
He is survived by a special friend, Tracy Wimberley of Rock Spring; daughter, Jessica Pruitt of LaFayette; son, David S. Wardlaw, Jr. of Oakland, CA; sister and brother-in-law, Joan (Craig) Wardlaw Fowler of LaFayette; brother and sister-in-law, James “Jimmy” (Charlotte) Wardlaw of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Mason, Max and Violet Pruitt; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Friday, July 31 at 11 a.m. from the LaFayette First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Hegan officiating. Interment will follow in the LaFayette Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walker County animal Shelter P.O. Box 445 LaFayette, GA, the First United Methodist Church or a charity of choice.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, July 30 from 5-8 p.m.
