Scenic City Women’s Network will hold a Prayer Walk / Vigil for the city of Chattanooga and the families of the fallen servicemen in the recent Chattanooga shootings.  The event will be held at two locations on August 6, at 6 p.m.  Locations include the River Park off Amnicola Highway at the concession area and Grace Works Church, 6445 Lee Hwy.

"Everyone is invited to attend this special time of prayer to remember these heroes, their families, our city leaders and the dedicated service provided by local law enforcement," organizers said.

The prayer vigil will include a color guard from Hixson High School’s JROTC led by MSgt Burhans at the Lee Highway location along with SGM Franklin from Red Bank High School who will lead his HS AJROTC color guard at the Amnicola location.

Leading the River Park vigil will be:  Pastor Gerald O'Guinn, Love Fellowship Church; Pastor Ray Williams, One Accord Baptist Church; Deborah Gunn, who will lead singing; Florence Samuels, SCWN Board member; and Patti Harris, executive director of SCWN.

At the Lee Highway location will be: Pastor Bill Owen, Grace Works Church;  Lee Atchley, area director of CBMC; and Sally Worland, SCWN board member.

“In this time of great sadness and shock, it is only in prayer that we can find solace as a community and as individuals”, said Patti Harris, executive director of SCWN. “Everyone is welcome to attend this event to honor these servicemen and pray for their families.”

"Scenic City Women’s Network wishes to thank Col T. C. McConnell (Ret), Director JROTC, for his support of this event along with Major Teresa Newsome of the Salvation Army," organizers said.

More information can be found on SCWN’s website at www.scwn.org or by contacting Ms. Harris at 423-698-6262.
