Chattanooga Lookouts outfielder Max Kepler homered twice and starting pitcher Jason Wheeler (W, 2-2) hurled eight shutout innings to lead the team to the 3-0 win over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos . The win was Chattanooga's 11th shutout of the season.

Kepler's two solo-home runs was more than enough to back a solid outing by Wheeler. Kepler finished the game going 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair a runs and RBI. Wheeler pitched eight shutout innings with six strikeouts and no walks.

From first pitch of tonight's game Wheeler was dominant. The left-hander retired the first six batters before allowing his first two hits in the third.

After those two blemishes Wheeler sat down 17 straight batters until allowing three more singles in the eighth. The eight inning effort was Wheeler's longest of the year for the Lookouts and marked the second time this season he did not issue a walk.

With Wheeler lights out on the mound, the Lookouts offense needed to provide some pop of their own. The Lookouts did just that in the third inning when they scored the first runs of the night on a Heiker Meneses sacrifice fly and a Kepler home run.

Kepler duplicated his feat in the eighth inning to give the Lookouts their third and final run of the day and his first multi-homer game of his career. The multi-homer effort was the team's fifth of the season with the last coming on July 18th when Kennys Vargas belted two against the Biloxi Shuckers.

In the ninth inning J.T. Chargois came in and fanned two to clinch his eighth save of the year.
