Mildred Juanita Weatherford Brock, 94, of Dalton, Georgia, died Thursday morning, July 30, 2015 at the Ridgewood Manor Health Care.
Mildred was born May 15, 1921 in Athens, TN to the late Taylor and Bessie Henson McNabb; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellison Weatherford and William “Bill” Brock; a son, Jerry Dean Weatherford; and sisters, Willie Pulley and Ellen Harrison.
Mildred was retired from Texture-Tex and was a member of the Welcome Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Sitton of Ringgold, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Brenda Weatherford of Acworth, GA, Jimmy and Jean Weatherford of Macon, GA, Billy and Diane Weatherford of Dalton, GA and Debbie Weatherford of Rossville, GA; step-son, Billy Brock and step-daughter, Brenda Bell both of Dalton, GA; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mildred J. Weatherford Brock will be held Saturday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her sons, Reverend Harold Weatherford and Reverend Billy Weatherford officiating. She will be laid to rest at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with her family, Keith Weatherford, Joey Weatherford, Eric Sitton, Joseph Weatherford, Joe Watkins and Jamie Weatherford serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 31 and from noon Saturday, Aug. 1 until the service hour.
