CFC Hosts Indiana, Officials Hoping For 9,999+

  • Friday, July 31, 2015

The Chattanooga Football Club is set to host the NPSL national semifinal match Saturday night at Finley Stadium.  CFC will take on the Indiana Fire who won the Midwest Region championship.

The game is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Last year, Chattanooga hosted Sacramento in a national semifinal game and drew more almost 9,000 fans.  Chattanooga won that game and went on to play in the NPSL championship game.

CFC officials are hoping for 10,000 on Saturday.

Chattanooga is 16-2-1 on the season.  The two loses came to Atlanta Silverback teams including the NASL Silverbacks in the US Open Cup early this season.  The other to the Atlanta Silverback Reserves which marked their only loss to an NPSL team.

Chattanooga won the South Region championship last week with a 3-2 win at Myrtle Beach.  CFC led 3-0 before the Mutiny scored two quick goals in the second half.

Indiana is 9-2-3 on the season and won their first region title this past Saturday by beating AFC Cleveland 3-1.   They were the fourth seed going into the Midwest Region tournament.

The other semifinal game will feature New York Cosmos B hosting CD Aguiluchos USA at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in New York.

New York Cosmos B is the top seed going into the tournament and will host the national championship game if they win.
