Walker Haynes, a 1996 graduate of Bryan College in Dayton, has directed a feature film that will premiere on July 16 on 6:30 p.m. at the Carmike Majestic in Downtown Chattanooga. Tickets are $11.
Hamlet's Ghost, a family friendly, sci-fi time travel film that examines the possibility of parallel existence. It was written and directed by Walker Haynes. Much of the film was shot in Georgia, showcases a myriad of home grown talent and traverses familiar Georgia settings, including picturesque lakes, Georgia pines, and historical sites like the famous Springer Opera House.
The film tells the story of Judge Vaughn, a modern Shakespearean actor, who becomes psychologically troubled while playing Hamlet on stage. His connection to the play takes him back in time to 1920, where he must unravel the mystery surrounding his past life and death. What he uncovers is more than a parallel existence, but his attempt to repair the damage done in the past may leave him there, unable to return to present day.
The event will only happen if 67 tickets are pre-sold online by July 6, through this website: https://www.tugg.com/events/26038. Once the threshold is met, tickets will continue to be available until four hours before the event.
There will be a Q & A with Mr. Haynes and the local cast and crew in attendance immediately after the screening.
Although Hamlet's Ghost has not been rated, The Dove Foundation has deemed it suitable for ages 12 and up (http://www.dove.org/review/10396-hamlets-ghost/).
