Cleveland, Mary Lee (LaFayette)

Mary Lee Cleveland, 90, of LaFayette, died on Thursday, July 2, 2015 in a local health care facility.

She was a lifelong resident of the Tennessee-North Georgia area, and a member of the Church of Christ. She retired from UTC after 10 years of service and had worked with the Speech and Hearing Center, and TVA. During World War II, she worked as a welder in Jacksonville, Fl., and was a graduate of Trion High School, class of 1943.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harvey and Lula Kimball Talley, and her loving husband of 65 years, Herman Cleveland.

She is survived by a son, Allen (Lori) Cleveland, LaFayette; a daughter: Beverly (Gardner) Hall, Port Murray, NJ, and four grandchildren, Rebecca and Leah Hall, and Clint and Chad Cleveland.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Ministers Daniel Curtis and Mack Stephens officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 6, at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
