Betty Wolff

Betty McKamey Wolff, 88, of Hixson, died on Friday, July 3, 2015 at a local hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 13, 1926 in Chattanooga, to the late Fred L. McKamey and Annie H. McKamey. She was a 1944 graduate of Red Bank High School. She was married to the love of her life, the late Carl Wolff, Sr., for 60 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who taught her family and friends how to love each other and live life with a smile.

Betty was a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. She loved God, her family and life. She enjoyed holidays and family gatherings, music, looking at pictures, traveling, the ocean and Braves baseball. She was an amazing cook and storyteller. Betty was a fun loving person who encouraged others to enjoy life no matter what circumstances they encountered. She made friends wherever she went and loved doing things for other people. Her family, friends and acquaintances are forever changed for the better as a result of Betty’s kind and generous heart. Betty was a woman of strong character and determination who had a wonderful sense of humor. She had a very contagious laugh and smile that would light up a room. Our “Grandmother” is truly missed by her family and friends and her life will be celebrated with love and laughter. She will forever be in our hearts and smiles.

This is the day that the lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad it in. Psalm 118:24

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl Wolff Sr. son, Carl Wolff Jr., father, Fred L. McKamey, mother, Annie H. McKamey, brother, Bill Helm, brother, Robert McKamey, and sister Mary Jo McKamey.

Betty’s proudest accomplishments were the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren she nurtured.
