Johnson was arrested Friday afternoon by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and is incarcerated the County Jail on charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, felony reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

The victim, Roger Heard, was taken to Erlanger East Hospital where he told authorities that he had been shot on Walden Avenue by the little brother of a man he knew.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Johnson.

The victim said that he went to the defendant’s address to pay him for a sports bet. When he arrived, he spoke to the defendant’s older brother before the defendant stepped forward, pointed a revolver and shot him in the face.

After he had been shot, the victim drove to his own home and got a friend to drive him to the emergency room.

Authorities also found that Johnson has prior convictions for aggravated assault and robbery, which make his possession or use of a firearm illegal.
