Friends Of The Library To Hold Book Sale At Hamilton Place Mall July 31-Aug. 15

The Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library will hold a book sale at the Hamilton Place Mall from July 31 through Aug. 15. Sale hours are Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday from 12-6 p.m. The location for this sale is the upper level near the Sears entrance inside the mall across from Massage Envy.

Thousands of donated books representing many genres including children's books will be available during this sale. Children’s books are $1.00 for hardcover and $.50 for paperback books. Adult fiction and non-fiction hardcover books are $2.00 and paperback books are $1.00. There is also a section of special books that are individually priced.   “Books are continually replenished during the sale” said Tom Adkins, Book Sale Chairman, who also stated that the ½ price day will be Friday, Aug. 14 and the $5.00 bag day will be Saturday, Aug. 15.

William Sundquist, Chairman of the Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library stated that the book sale could not take place without volunteers. If anyone is interested in volunteering to set up, take down, or work the book sale, please call the office or email chattfolbooksale@gmail.com. The Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library website will also have a link for volunteers to sign up.  

Mr. Sundquist stated that there will be a special event for educators, non-profit organizations, schools, and day care centers on Sunday Aug. 16, from 12-6 p.m. Free books for educators and charitable organizations will be available.
