CODE BLUE Called For UTC, Jacksonville State Game

  • Wednesday, August 12, 2015
OK Mocs fans, time is drawing near.  A Top 10 team, a Top 10 opponent and a championship atmosphere is just over three weeks away at Finley Stadium.  All of this excitement is forcing UTC to declare a CODE BLUE for the Jacksonville State game on Saturday, September 5.

Chattanooga is coming off back-to-back Southern Conference titles and carries a No. 8 national ranking into the season opener against the Ohio Valley Conference Champion Gamecocks.  Jacksonville State is also expected to be one of the top teams in the FCS and enters the season as high as No.
7 in the national polls.

This is the first time in school history two Top 10 teams have met in Chattanooga in the regular season.  It is also the only game in the 2015 FCS regular season between two outright conference champions.

If that is not enough to get your college football juices flowing, UTC has a little bit of revenge on its mind after last year's nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat overtime loss to this same JSU squad.

Tommy Hudson ran back what would have been the game-winning punt return for a touchdown at the end of regulation, only to have it called back due to a penalty.  Despite a valiant effort, the Mocs could not hold on in overtime and lost 26-23.

Scrappy wants everyone to get to the UTC Bookstore, Scrappy Sams in the Northgate Mall or on the GoMocs.com online store, and get your BLUE Mocs gear for the game.  We are also handing out Code Blue t-shirts to the first 2,000 fans in the gate at 6:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) on September 5.  Let's #FillFinley with a sea of blue for the season opener.

Single-game tickets are on sale now and start at $10 for youth.  Season tickets for the full five game schedule are also still on sale and begin at $50 for youth, faculty and staff.  Both can be ordered on GoMocs.com, or by calling the UTC Ticket Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627), so get yours today and be ready to #CheerLocal.

In an effort to get fans excited about the Jacksonville State game, the Mocs will be out-and-about on campus and in the community in the coming weeks.  Here is a list of events, with more details to come on each one on GoMocs.com.  Also, be sure to check out the attached Code Blue commercial from MocsVision.  You can also find it on our Facebook page and share it with your friends.
