The chairman of FedEx did more than deliver the keynote speech at the annual Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Wednesday.
In a surprise at the Convention Center, he announced that his highly successful firm was presenting a check for $100,000 to the families of the slain military personnel.
He noted that FedEx is headquartered in Memphis and said he wanted to help those in another part of the state.
The speaker told of the remarkable rise of FedEx into one of the nation's largest operations.
Among those attending was Senator Bob Corker.
