New Map Illustrates Higher Education Attainment In Tennessee

  • Thursday, August 20, 2015

The Comptroller’s Offices of Research and Education Accountability (OREA) has created a new map on its website focusing on higher education in Tennessee.

The color-coded map indicates which Tennessee counties have the highest and lowest percentage of adult residents who have attained at least an associate’s degree.

The Higher Education map also includes school district and county information related to ACT scores, graduation rates, and college going rates.

OREA created the map using the latest data available from the Tennessee Department of Education, Tennessee Higher Education Commission and the U.S. Census Bureau.

“This map is an excellent resource for anyone interested in learning more about higher education attainment in Tennessee,” said Comptroller Justin P. Wilson. “This map can also help measure the positive progress being made to meet Governor Haslam’s challenge to have 55 percent of Tennesseans equipped with a college degree or certificate by 2025.”
