Lee University welcomed nine new faculty members to its campus this fall, four of which have been added to the School of Nursing.
Amy Blake joins Lee’s faculty as a lecturer in nursing. She has been a registered nurse for 21 years. Her expertise is in medical/surgical nursing. She has been serving as adjunct faculty and clinical instructor at Cleveland State Community College since 2010, in addition to working at Skyridge Medical Center. In 2014 Ms. Blake received the Star Award for Outstanding Adjunct at Cleveland State.
Ms. Blake earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Southern Adventist University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing.
Laura Chapman, assistant professor of nursing, joins Lee’s School of Nursing after serving on the faculty at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Ala., since 2009. She served as the Association of Nursing Students Sponsor and conducted several projects with students that placed first at the state and national levels. She is a board-certified Christian counselor and is passionate about leadership and psychiatric nursing. Three of her four children have attended Lee.
Ms. Chapman earned her MSN at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
Assistant Professor of Nursing Rebecca Hergert began her teaching career at Tennessee College of Applied Technology and was a part-time instructor at Lee this past spring. During her time at TCAT, she was also a clinical nurse for the Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tn. on the medical surgical unit. She has served on the Advisory Committee at TCAT as the faculty representative, responsible for interviewing candidates prior to admission into the Practical Nurse program.
Ms. Hergert earned her Master of Science (MS) in nursing education and her Bachelor of Science from Western Governors University, and a Certified Nurse Educator designation from the National League for Nursing. She has been a registered nurse for 22 years.
Charlotte Webb, assistant professor of nursing, comes to Lee after teaching at Chattanooga State Community College since 2007. While at CSCC, she served as an associate professor of nursing. She has also served as an adjunct online professor for East Tennessee State University since 2012. Ms. Webb has made numerous presentations dealing with women’s health, simulation in nursing education, and faculty mentoring and is a member of several nursing professional affiliations. She was a recipient of faculty fellows and Teaching Excellence Award at Chattanooga State. She is also a board-certified family nurse practitioner.
Ms. Webb earned her MSN from Southern Adventist University and her BSN from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
