Clyde Barnes, Jr., 75, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Barnes was born on January 31, 1940, in Summerville, son of the late Clyde Barnes and Mary E. Barnes. He was a member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church, did paint and body work, and was retired from Mount Vernon Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Barnes, Clarkie Barnes, James Barnes, Carl Barnes, sisters, Hazel Richardson and Kat Ellis.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Naomi Mitchell Boyd Barnes, sons, Chad Barnes, Tony Barnes; sisters, Bobbie McArthur, Evely Spradling, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Ann Broyles, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Barnes will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Howell, Reverend Sanford DeBerry, Reverend Steve Bishop, and Reverend Mickey Skates officiating. Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Keith Treadwell, Waymon Blansit, Gene Gazaway, Bill Broyles, Jeff Barnes, Randy McArthur. Honorary pallbearers will be Raburn and Sissy Ashworth, Frank and Peggy McCrickard, Roger and Peggy Thomas, Howard and Helen Odum, Mike Odum, Glenda Hartline, Heymen Hospice and members of Chesterfield Baptist Church.
Mr. Barnes will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday.
