The Chattanooga Lookouts (68-55) won game one, but dropped game two to split Monday's doubleheader with the Tennessee Smokies (67-59)
In game one Chattanooga found themselves down two runs in the fifth inning, but cut the deficit down to one in the fifth.
An inning later the team tied the game on a Max Kepler single. The next batter, Adam Brett Walker II, smashed his league-leading 28th home run to give the Lookouts the 4-2 lead. Walker is now tied with Tim Costo (1992) and Scott Schebler for the team's modern-era record for homers in a season. The outfielder is also one RBI away from becoming the third Lookouts player in the modern era to record 100 RBIs in a season.
David Hurlbut picked up his ninth victory after allowing two earned runs across six innings. He struck out four and walked three. It was his third straight start where he's gone at least six innings and allowed two runs or fewer.
J.T. Chargois earned his tenth save with a perfect seventh inning including a strikeout.

In game two, Greg Peavey had the Lookouts locked into a 1-1 tie after four innings but he gave up three runs over the next pair of innings to see that tie disappear.
Peavey finished by allowing three earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts and three walks in 5.1 innings. Corey Williams finished off the game with 1.2 scoreless innings in his second appearance since being promoted from Fort Myers.
Niko Goodrum was the only hitter with multiple hits as he finished the night 2-for-3 with a run scored. Levi Michael smacked his 11th double of the season while DJ Hicks had the team's lone RBI. After homering in two straight games, Adam Brett Walker went 0-for-2 with a walk.
The game began with a scoreless first inning, but the Smokies scored one in the second. Chattanooga tied it up in the fourth on a DJ Hicks RBI, but Tennessee scored three more runs to put the game out of reach. Kepler drew a walk, but did not record a hit to end his season-high hitting streak at 12.
