The Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute and Girls Preparatory School will celebrate the 95th anniversary of the 19th Amendment during a special event on Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Frierson Auditorium at GPS.
Chattanooga City Council Chairwoman Carol Berz and GPS Head of School Autumn Graves, will speak on the importance of a woman’s right to vote, while remembering the many women who pushed, protested and faced adversity while championing for equal rights.
Attendees will enjoy light refreshments while viewing “Iron Jawed Angels,” a film that depicts the American women’s suffrage movement during the 1910s, following women leaders as they revolutionize the American feminist movement to grant women the right to vote.
