Chattanooga Theatre Centre Honors Volunteers At Annual Miss Annie Awards

Patti Gross was honored as Volunteer of the Year at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre 2014-2015 Miss Annie Awards and Volunteer Celebration held Saturday at the Theatre Centre. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike won the Miss Annie Award as Outstanding Play and also won the award for Audience Favorite. Into The Woods won the Miss Annie for Outstanding Musical, and 9 to 5 won Audience Favorite Musical. 

Best Actor Awards went to Scott Shaw for his dual role as the Wolf/Prince Charming in the musical Into The Woods and to Jim Eernisse for his portrayal of George in Of Mice and Men. Best Actress honors went to Julie Van Valkenburg as Sonia in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and to Beth Gumnick as The Bakers Wife in the musical, Into The Woods. Audience Favorite Actors were Greg Rambin as Vanya in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (play) and Jerry Draper as Mr. Hart in 9 to 5, the Musical (musical). Audience Favorite Actresses were Julie Van Valkenburg as Sonia in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (play) and Denise Hardee as Roz in 9 to 5, The Musical. 

Into the Woods and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike each netted six awards. The musical 9 to 5 received three and Of Mice and Men, two. 

The Miss Annies celebrate and honor the volunteers both onstage and behind the scenes. Stacy Helton chaired the event again this year.
