Hamilton County enrollment has increased 579 students when comparing last year’s 10th day to this year, Supt. Rick Smith said.
Tenth-day enrollment stands at 43,320.
The high schools have gained 319 students and the elementary grades are up 287. The middle schools are down by 27 students.

Ooltewah High School had the biggest gain among high schools, increasing by 166 students to 1,570.
Howard is up 119 students to 723, while Brainerd dropped 71 students to 554.
The STEM School gained 82 students to 264.
The new East Brainerd Elementary has 900 students - a gain of 243.
Wolftever is up 97 to 520 students.
Ooltewah Elementary gained 86 students and is at 911.
