Mark Making announced that Christa Mannarino has been named the organization’s interim executive director. She will temporarily leave her role as board chairwoman and serve in this capacity while the group conducts a search for a permanent director.
Ms. Mannarino worked most recently as director of Development & External Relations at Girls Preparatory School. She has also served as executive director for the Association for Visual Arts for 10 years and as director of Development at UTC. Ms. Mannarino has a proven track record of building strategic relationships and harnessing those resources to better our community, said officials.
Erskine Oglesby, Jr., will ascend to the role of chairman of the Board of Directors, having previously served as the secretary/treasurer. He currently works as associate director for Corporate and Community Engagement at United Way of Greater Chattanooga. Mr. Oglesby has experience in the Chattanooga community, previously serving as disability program navigator for the Southeast Tennessee Development District and as an officer and/or member of dozens of local non profit boards.
Frances McDonald, the founder and executive director, will step into the new role of art director. This will enable her to focus primarily on public art projects. As Mark Making has expanded, the need for a full time art director has increased. Ms. McDonald has the experience, talent, dedication and passion for the work and will intensify the impact on Chattanooga’s underserved communities, said officials.
